Volunteer

Do you want to make a difference in the life of a young person? Join PAIR as a volunteer and mentor!

Here is one volunteer's experience:

"Volunteering with PAIR was pure bliss. I would wake up in the morning excited, rather than having to drag myself out of bed. Going to the program and seeing the students' faces, their big smiles, their eagerness to play, and their potential to be extraordinary people was so inspiring. PAIR offers:

  • experience working with people from diverse cultures
  • exposure to social issues of concern in our community and the world
  • opportunities to develop your leadership and skills

PAIR is looking for dedicated volunteers who feel passionately about making a difference.
We have opportunities to fit your schedule, interests, and skills:

  • Mentor and tutor middle school refugee students after school
  • Mentor newly-arrived refugee students ages 11-14 to help them adjust to life in the US
  • Mentor high school students to promote their leadership development
  • Assist in translation to better communicate with refugee families
We have an ongoing need for interpretation of various languages, including but not limited to: Nepali, Arabic, French, Swahili, Tigrinya, Burmese, Karenni, Kirundi, and Somali. If you have any experience with these languages, please email PAIR@pairhouston.org

We are always looking for volunteers. No experience is necessary.
