Global Learners Mentoring: Volunteer with
Middle School Students

Volunteers participate in either after-school group mentoring or lunch-time individual mentoring one day a week at one of PAIR’s partner school locations in our Global Learners Program. Group mentors commit to one semester of weekly volunteering. Activities include: cultural orientation, academic enrichment, homework help, games, sports, and crafts! Mentors build relationships with students through games, leading group lessons based on provided curriculum, and assisting with homework help.

Mentors must be 16 or older and be able to present a valid government-issued photo ID to apply. Applicants will be required to attend a mandatory in-person training each semester of volunteering.

Volunteer applications accepted August-September for Fall Semester and December-January for Spring Semester.

Global Leaders Mentoring: Volunteer with
High School Students

Activities include: cultural orientation, academic support, career exploration, college readiness, homework help, and games. Mentors build relationships with students through games, leading group lessons based on provided curriculum, and assisting with homework help.

Mentors must be 18 or older and be able to present a valid government-issued photo ID to apply. Applicants will be required to attend a mandatory in-person training each semester of volunteering.

Volunteer applications accepted August-September for Fall Semester and December-January for Spring Semester.

Global Scholars Mentoring:
Volunteer with High School 11th & 12th Grade Students

Our Global Scholars program focuses on graduation and post-secondary planning for 11th and 12th grade students. The 1-on-1 mentorship model of this program gives you the chance to be matched with a single student and follow them over the course of 2 years. Volunteers commit to meeting with their student six hours a month either after school or on the weekends to assist with college and career exploration, homework help, and exploring the city of Houston!

Mentors must be 21 or older, a college graduate, and able to pass a background and MVR check to apply. Applicants must commit to a year-long mentorship and will be required to attend a mandatory in-person training.

Volunteer applications accepted in November-December.
